Online Bible College Grants

If you go to college online, you can save money, but that doesn’t mean that education is inexpensive. One of the best ways to pay for college is with college grants. Like scholarships, grants don’t require you to repay the money after you graduate, so it is like getting part of your education for free. However, unlike scholarships, this kind of money for college isn’t dependent on your academic achievement or special talents, but rather on your financial need.

The process to get a college grant can be difficult. Often, you have to have an exact plan for how the money will be used, and your educational goals and a grant committee will review costs in detail. The application process may take a long time, but the payoff is a large sum of money to put toward your education.

There are multiple places where you can look for grants for your bible college education. First, many grants are available from the United States government. Some grants are non-religious, but that doesn’t mean you can’t apply. Most grants are available to all students who are attending accredited programs, so as long as your college or university is accredited, you’ll qualify for the grant.

Private organizations also have grants available for bible college students. The Fund for Theological Education is a great place to start, as this organization has many different programs set aside for college students. National Ministries also has a grant program. In additional, many denomination-specific religious organizations set aside money to help bible college students pay for education. For example, The Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund, Inc. is an organization that specifically helps Baptist students who are pursuing education in fields relating to this religion.

Remember, grants can also be put toward advanced degrees, and if you’re going back to school for a master’s degree or a doctorate, you can apply for grants through fellowship programs, which work like scholarship programs in many cases. There are typically special requirements for many grants for graduate students that go beyond a simple need for money. For example, the Fund for Theological Education has a grant specifically for African American students studying to get their Ph.D. or Th.D.

You can also look to your college of choice for grants. Most have programs available for students who show financial need. When you’re looking at college, you may want to talk to their financial aid departments to learn about these grant options, as this can help you decide between programs. Some colleges offer grants directly from the college, while others have grant opportunities through specific departments. They can also point you to outside sources of financial aid that may apply to your situation.

If you’re applying for grants, make sure that you complete the application thoroughly; this is the best tip for being awarded the most money possible. Apply to as many grants as possible, and you could find that you don’t have to put any of your own money toward your education.
